Oh Man!

Well, as you can see that I haven't posted for a while, its been one hectic June around here!

Since the 1st of June, we've had one child with a fractured arm, another child with a concusion and strep throat, and a mom with a bum lower back. I was hoping that things would slow down a little bit and we'd be able to enjoy most of the summer, but we've just been dealing with this stuff so much. (So there, that's the reason for not posting lately!)

Now onto some exciting news- we made it out to Glacier Ridge Metro Park near Dublin, Ohio today. We walked the wetland area looking for creatures and got to enjoy the beautiful morning! The kids loved seeing the huge bullfrogs, but the pictures didn't turn out to well of the big guy! I added one of him that my daughter took plus another of a bird out in the wetland on a tree. She was having fun with the camera, but not getting very many good shots! She's learning!

If you haven't been to this park yet, you are missing a gem. The observation deck from like 20-30 feet up is exciting for the kids to see and look out on the wetland. The boardwalks offer close up views of the bullfrogs in the water. Ducks floating, dragonflies zooming by and a quiet and peaceful walk. This is only part of the Glacier Ridge Metro Park. There is a full woodland area too. They have a great little playground, horse trails, disc golf and programs offered throughout the year.

So if you are near U.S. 33 and Post Road between Dublin and Marysville, make sure to check out Glacier Ridge Metro Park.

Sounds like you have had a rough start to summer. I hope thing start to look up. How is your back? My knee is all full of fuild again but I'm trying to not let it get to me. I'll take care of it when we get back from vacation.I'm trying to get the kids ready to leave this friday. We are driving them to Bloomington Illinois where we are meeting up with John's parents. Then they are taking them up to Minnesota. I will be childless for 4 weeks. I'm so looking forward to catching up with my homework and having time to myself.
How is your weight coming? I've lost 4 pounds so I think I'm back on track. I'm still writing in my log and I see that picture every day. I hope every thing is going well for you too.
That park sounds really nice? Is it to the left when you get to Post road? If you go right at Post road (161) then to Cosgray (second left the road that goes past the sports Ohio) That will take you to Homestead water park (it's FREE). It was a dry park too. It is a lot of fun. I'll have to try to take the kids to Glacier ridge park on Wednesday. I told them we would do something fun before they left.
I have to get going. Your family is in my prayers in hopes every thing is looking up!! Lynn

Thanks Lynn! My back is gettign better. I started physical therapy yesterday and I think this will get me kick started back in to working out. I haven't done anything!:-(
I hope that you have a safe trip this weekend. I'm sure the kids will love spending time with grandparents. Man, I don't know what I would do without my kids for 4 weeks! I think I'd love being alone, but then I think I'd miss them. Have you all done this before?
I have been to Homestead before, but have yet to take my own kids. I can't do something like that with lots of people running around and being by myself with my 3. I would need another set of eyes.
Well, keep up that awesome work or losing your weight and I hope that you knee feels better soon.
Take care, Rachel

I'm glad to hear that your back is feeling better.
We have been taking the kids to Minnesota for the last 5 years by themself. Zack just the last 4 years. They stay any where from 6 weeks to 4 weeks with my parents and John's parents. They flip flop the kids. My parents will have them for a week and half and then John's parents will have them a week and a half and so on. Plus they will stay a night or two with my older sister and a night or two with John's sister. This year they get to stay at my little sisters house. Both our parents live on lakes so they swim every day and love it. It's a great way for them to bound with every one. As for me the hardest part is the last few day before we leave. I start to miss them and look forward to seeing them. I fill my time with work. I pick up extra hours at the Y. This year I'm going to catch up on my homework. I call them every night to say good night. Then on Sundays they tell me all about their week. The time goes fast and they have a blast.
We were not able to get to the park but John and I are going to try and go. I hope all is well. Lynn

I'm glad they get time to do that. My family is all within an hour of each other, my mom in N. Lewisburg! Maybe we could meet at the N.Lewisburg trail one morning and walk together. Let me know a couple of days that work for you and I'll get my hubby to watch the kids.

That would be nice. Friday, Saturday or Sunday work the best for me. I'm working double shifts M- TH with the kids being gone. Nights at Krogers and days at the Y.
How is your little girls arm? My sisters little boy just broke his arm at the park. We have three little ones in the neighborhood who have broken arms too. it's crazy. Anyways I hope she is doing good. Lynn

Things are okay lynn, here is my regular email brkscjones@embarqmail.com. I don't seem to be keepin up with this blog right now, so shoot me an email.
Now the fair is on this week in Marysville, so we've got soem open class stuff we're doing, so that is making this a crazy week too.
My back is feeling really good right now. I've been to the physical therapist a few times and am sticking to the exercises he has given me and they are making my back stronger!
The arm is all better, she got the cast of on the 1st and has a recheck tomorrow to make sure its okay. How old is your sisters little boy? I have a full arm cast cover that I bought for my daughter so she could go swimming and get in the bath with no worries. Its a small size, I'd be willing to sell it if it will fit. It was great because she could still swim and stuff.
Well, I really need to get to bed. Hope yoru week is going good. Sorry I haven't posted in a while, we lost everythign on our computer and I totally forgot to put this web address back into my favorites! Rachel
